Following discussions between the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) and the Blasting Competency Scheme (BCS), blasting occupations are to be transferred from CSCS to BCS.

It was agreed that the BCS is better placed to represent the blasting sector and a list of occupations to be transferred has been produced. From the 1st February 2018, all new applications, both first time and new applications should be directed to the BCS.

These occupations are:

• Shotfiring

• Blast Design

• Profiling

• Storage

• Explosive Supervision

• Bulk Explosive Truck Operations
