Following national and local lockdowns, changes to tier systems and the implementation of social distancing within CSCS test centres, the availability of the CITB exam for the renewal or application of CSCS cards is facing continued delays.
The current UK lockdown has caused some confusion with many people fearing their CITB exam (required for the application of a CSCS card) had been cancelled or they will not be able to book test. However, all UK test centres remain open.
Appointments for the CITB Health Safety and Environment test that are due to take place during the lockdown in England will still be delivered.
The Welsh government will be imposing a 2 week "Firebreak lockdown" starting on Friday the 23rd October. During this time Pearson Vue will be closing the CITB test centres with many tests having to be cancelled or rescheduled.
There has been an unprecedented demand for the CITB health and safety exam since the easding of the UK lockdown. Many centres have now reached capacity over the next few weeks with some centres now being fully booked up to September and October. Anyone who has a CSCS card that is due to run out this year is being advised to book early and as soon as possible to be able to secure an appointment.
In recent months many tests have been repeatedly cancelled and rescheduled leading test appointments not meeting the candidates originally requested or current availability needs. Your test can still be rescheduled to a more suitable date but there are limitations and restrictions on availability.
