Following national and local lockdowns, changes to tier systems and the implementation of social distancing within CSCS test centres, the availability of the CITB exam for the renewal or application of CSCS cards is facing continued delays.
Most centres in England are currently able to continue to operate and appointments can normally be obtained fairly quickly with minimal delay. This is not the case in Scotland where no tests are currently available until late March due to centre closures and high demand. In Wales, it is also difficult to obtain a test at short notice due to the recently implemented full lockdown and continued high demand for the test.
Unfortunately, in the current climate, the days have gone where you can go online and book your test for the next day or even the next few days. When you need your exam always try to book at least a week or more in advance and if you need to renew your CSCS card within the next 3 to 6 months, you would be well advised to book your health safety and environment test now to ensure you can pass your test in time. The global covid-19 pandemic has been causing disruption since March last year and test centre staff have been working hard to ensure as many tests as possible can be booked and take place whilst still ensuring these can be delivered in a safe environment.
You can book a CITB health and safety test (CSCS test) by clicking HERE.
Due to the unpredictable nature of the pandemic and with the threat of new variants its still possible you could book an appointment that will need to be rescheduled. All test centres have to follow local government guidelines and if forced to close your appointment will need to be rescheduled. This will of course cause concern if your card is due to expire. However, you may still be able to work providing you can show you have taken steps to renew your card. For further details please click HERE.
