The CSCS firmly believe that in order for Construction sites to remain safe and productive all workers should hold the correct qualifications and training for the type of work they carry out.
Recently the British Safety Council (BSC) who deliver the level 1 award, have confirmed a rise in the number of fraudulent certificates that have been used to apply for the CSCS labourer card. Card holders are required to hold a QCF level 1 (SCQF level 4) award in health and safety in a construction environment and pass the Operatives CITB Health Safety & Environment test (click here to book a test through the CSCS-booking service)
Previously fraudsters had focused on the production of fake cards to cheat the examination system. More recently, as the capacity to restrict fraudsters has grown, they have turned to other methods and an increase in the production of high-quality fake certificates has been detected.
CSCS is committed to taking steps to prevent fraudulent activity. The CSCS card Scheme was introduced to ensure people demonstrate they have the required level of health and safety awareness needed to operate safely on a UK construction site. If you wish to apply for a CSCS card you can book your CITB Health Safety and Environment test through CSCS-booking by clicking here.
