An online trader was sentenced at Warwick Crown Court for more than 3 years under section 9 of the fraud act 2006 for the production and sale of fake documents.
Following an investigation by Warwickshire County Council Trading Standards, supported by information from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and card schemes such as the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS), an online fraudster was discovered to be printing and selling fake cards via his website.
Mr Andrew Weeks was found to be manufacturing the fake cards at his printing firm (Nuneaton Print) and selling them via his website. After pleading guilty he was sentenced to 3 years and 8 months for the manufacture of the fake documents and ordered to pay damages of £6000.
The CSCS card Scheme was introduced to ensure all workers in a construction industry can operate safely. People attempting to gain entry to construction sites with fake documentation put themselves and others at risk. Please ensure you obtain your card through proper channels and to do so you must have passed your health, safety and environment test. You can use the quick and easy booking form now to book your test at an official test centre.
